Fool's Journey

Somewhere around the end May, about June the Fool awakens, lifts his pack and moves toward whatever lies ahead.

A wise old fool once said, “Take no guff from swine.”  I’m a little slow sometimes but I usually do what I say I’m gonna do.

I’ve been very fortunate to have such friends, and to stay so busy in these turbulent times.

Last week at Cregeen’s and Cajun’s was more fun than I’ve had in a long time. The guys in TW, ( tragiklywhite.com ) ,are always a lotta fun and it was a cheap thrill gettin to open for them  Thursday.

Saturday, Eric Williams joined me on bass. Awesome six string, acoustic, and fretless bass!!  All of the Purcell clan were there makin it a Huge party!  Time to get Spring in here and start some outdoor action.  Hope to see you soon!

Come by this weekend both nights.

Old friends came from all around. Sometimes you just end up at the right place and things are pretty good for a while. Thanks to everyone .

I Haven’t heard much from the good folks on he Argenta council lately. Hope everybody’s OK over there.
Gonna be doin some new stuff this spring. It gets kinda boring around here sometimes bein one of the the performing Jackasses with the guitar.
Saw my good friend Mr. Happy yesterday, that’s Scott Hairston of the band Mr. Happy. He’s always a beacon of hope, and a cold bucket of water on the fires of delusion. In all my wisdom and experience he is still able to reel me back in a little when i drift too far. Thank you and God be with you Scotty!
Merry Christmas to everyone!! It’s a time for kids, and bein a kid. If you never got to be a kid I say do it now. I have a dear friend that grew up just over the hill from me. We didn’t really know each other as kids but we had the same experiences of Christmas and just gettin around as a kid in America during the 60′s and 70′s. Sharing those memories with her has been one of the high points of this Christmas season.

I will be there this Friday, 12-10-10!! The “Lightnin’ Rod” is greased up and you don’t wanna miss it!

Day  8 of the Oregon Odyssey finds us at The Report Lounge just one block from my refuge at the Jupiter hotel.

Some of Jesse’s friends showed up and my little Moccasin (guitar) with the new voice (pickup) acted pretty good.

Needs a little balancing, I think if I drank lots of vodka it would sound as good to me as everyone tells me it does to them.

Josh played brilliantly as always. Is it possible to be so exciting that it’s boring how consistently exciting you are?

I don’t know. We have three more days and a couple more shows before we can get outa here.  almost everyone has been very friendly here. Some have been a little less so. You know who you are and shame on you. I know we’re a little threatening but you don’t have to worry about us stickin around too long at a time.  I will roll in the Arkansas dirt when I return.
